Our Philosophy
Holistic Learning and Support
Since intellectual, physical and emotional growth are intertwined, we approach teaching children holistically. By focusing on a growth mindset, children learn to respect others, problem solve and work together. Creating an inclusive space where all children feel safe and welcome is very important to us. Social interactions and independent problem solving are encouraged.
Pedagogy
While we borrow aspects from various pedagogies including Montessori, High Scope, Reggio Emilia, we are primarily a play based program. Using carefully choosen materials and spaces, our aim is create a space which facilitates children getting the most benefit and natural learning out of their play experience. In this way, academic skills will be woven into many activities throughout the day.
Movement
Physical movement is so important for both mind and body. Childrens needs for activity will be supported through offering a variety of ways to engage in gross and fine motor skills both indoors and out. When areas requiring more practice are noted, special emphasize will be given to promoting opportunities for these movements.
